The Fort DuPont Redevelopment and Preservation Corporation announces that Executive Director Tim Slavin will retire effective Jan. 1, 2027, after four and a half years with the organization.
Since joining Fort DuPont, Slavin has helped advance preservation and redevelopment efforts across the campus, including the restoration of historic homes, environmental cleanup initiatives and infrastructure improvements. During his tenure, the corporation secured federal funding to stabilize the Branch Canal bank and continued work to bring historic buildings and public spaces back into productive use.
“Watching a community come together around a shared vision for its future has been especially rewarding,” Slavin said. “I am grateful for the trust of the people who care deeply about Fort DuPont and Delaware City, and for everyone who has contributed their time and expertise.”
The Board of Directors will begin a search for the organization’s next executive director. Additional information about the position and application process is available on the Executive Director Search page.
“We are grateful to Tim for his leadership and service,” said Board Chair John McMahon. “His work has helped strengthen the organization and move important projects forward. We wish him all the best in retirement.”
Slavin will continue serving through the end of the year and assist with leadership transition efforts prior to his retirement.
