The Delaware City Library has been closed for renovations, but the wait is almost over. Stop by on Sunday, Sept. 15, to see the updated space featuring new carpeting, fresh paint, window shades and brand-new computers. Come explore the refreshed library and enjoy all it has to offer the community.
Named for a Civil War Naval hero, Fort DuPont was built to protect port cities along the Delaware River, like Wilmington and Philadelphia from enemy ships. Today, the park preserves land at the mouth of the C&D Canal for recreation, providing access to the water and a reprieve from the urban sprawl of the area.
Join us the first Saturday in October for Delaware City Day, a day of food, live music, local vendors, children’s activities, and fireworks at dusk from Battery Park. Located at the foot of Clinton Street, the park overlooks Fort Delaware and the Delaware River, providing a scenic backdrop for this community celebration.
