Shaped by History & Anchored in Nature

As Fort DuPont honors the past and shapes the future, we invite you to join our community. This newsletter shares events and updates that connect Delaware City and celebrate our area’s rich history and natural beauty.

History Comes to Life this September

The sights, sounds, and stories of American military history will return to Fort DuPont this fall during the second annual From Muskets to Machine Guns: A Day of Living History on Saturday, Sept. 19.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the historic Parade Ground will come alive with military encampments, living history demonstrations, historic equipment, and interactive exhibits spanning generations of American military history. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet reenactors, explore how military technology evolved over time, and experience history in a way that books and museums simply can’t recreate.

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, looking for a family-friendly outing, or introducing children to Delaware’s rich military heritage, plan to spend the day discovering the people, stories, and traditions that helped shape our nation.

Admission is free.
