Officers Row, between the Canal District and Marina Village at Wingate, will echo the fort’s appearance during the 1930s and 40s, when the base was used by Army engineers. Only four new single family home lots are available. Contact Rockwell for custom home prices starting at $550,000.
Two of the three existing homes on Officers Row, originally built at Fort Mott, New Jersey, just opposite Fort DuPont, were floated across the river by barge to expand housing at the busy Fort. A total of 7 structures in all were relocated to Fort DuPont from Fort Mott in this manner, only two have survived over time.
Officers Row has been subdivided into 15 residential lots where prospective homeowners can design and build their dream home. Building guidelines will ensure that the newly constructed homes will fit in with the historic character of the neighborhood and restored homes.
