Southern Strides for Leadership inaugural 5K Walk/Run to support the school’s rowing leaders through their   Leader In Me Program.

Registration required – You can register in advance at Races2Run.com or the day of the event.

Course: Traffic-free, on residential streets in park-like setting.

Registration: 8:00 a.m.
Walk/Run begins at 9:00 a.m.

Delaware Air National Guard Exercises
Nov 1 @ 1:00 pm – Nov 2 @ 8:00 pm

Delaware Air National Guard will conduct helicopter exercises on the Fort Parade Ground.

NOTE: The public is welcome to watch these exercises from the area near the Fort DuPont Administrative Office, 260 Old Elm Avenue, Delaware City.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      No members of the public will be allowed onto the Parade Ground during these exercises.                                                                                               Some roads within The Fort may be restricted during these exercises. 

               Parking is available at the public boat ramp parking lot located on Wingate Road, at the northwest end of the Fort DuPont complex.

Wilmington Trail Club Hike

Members of the Wilmington Trail Club will be hiking through Fort DuPont on Thursday, November 21, 2019. Parking is in the lot adjacent to the barracks and Governor Bacon Health Center. Parking lot is located on Colter Road (formerly Kent), near Oak Lane in the Fort DuPont community.

Delaware City Planning Commission Meeting

Blue Water Development / RV Resort Park, Fort DuPont on agenda as of 10/24/19

The Planning Commission meets monthly at Delaware City Town Hall, 407 Clinton Street. Unless otherwise posted, meetings are held on the first Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 PM. Agendas are posted at Town Hall, the Post Office, Delaware City Library, the gas station, and Sunset Market.

DSWA Collection Event

DSWA Collection Event Saturday, June 13th at Fort DuPont, Delaware City

Look for DSWA near the south end of the Parade Ground, in the parking lot along Old Battery Lane.

COVID precautions will be in place: Attendees are required to wear a face mask and stay in their vehicles.

Delaware National Guard Training Exercises

Delaware National Guard  will conduct training exercises on Fort DuPont’s Parade Ground from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

JRRWA Whippet Races
Sep 12 – Sep 13 all-day

Jersey Rag Racers Whippets Association (JRRWA) returns to Fort DuPont for competitive Whippet Races, Saturday 9/12/20 and 9/13/20, on the Parade Ground.

The event is free and open to the public , all ages welcome, must observe COVID precautions as outlined below.

       Participants and spectators are required to follow COVID precautions:

       Social Distancing, 6′ or more apart from non-family members;  Wearing Masks where distancing is less than 6′; Sanitize Hands Often; Sneeze or Cough into Your Elbow;  Stay Home if you have a fever > 100 degrees

FYI: There is no betting or wagering involved with JRWWA events

Highland Games (Participants Only Event)

Scottish Highland Games (Club) on Saturday, September 26, 2020. Games begin at 8:00 a.m. and run through mid-day.

This event is open to club participants only. Spectators will be permitted but must remain in designated safe zone and maintain safe distance from active event at all times. Dogs must be leashed.

Fort DuPont requires visitors, vendors, contractors to take Covid precautions: Social Distance, wear masks, sanitize or wash hands. Thank you for your cooperation.
