Marina Village at Wingate
The Marina Village at Wingate is expected to be the new community’s bustling hub. Situated east of the existing state park launch ramp where the old canal meets the Delaware River, a new mixed-use neighborhood will be constructed, designed to fit into Ft. DuPont’s historical context. Condominiums will have views across the Delaware River to Pea Patch Island and the canal to Battery Park, the ferry dock and downtown.
The Marina Village bridge puts Delaware City’s historic Clinton Street commercial district, within an easy walk. There, the newly renovated red brick Central Hotel is now the headquarters of the American Birding Society.
The 150-slip full service marina will have service, storage and maintenance operations. A mix of one- and three-story buildings will combine retail and residential, with first-floor shops, restaurants and pubs and apartments above. Office space will also be available.
On the point a planned conference center with hotel and restaurant will be able to host business gatherings.
